THE FRUIT CUSTARD!

Food is just not a way fill your tummies, it's a wholesome experience on its own ! I feel blessed to share this beautiful piece of experience of art with you all !

This recipe is close to my heart as my mother made me this comfort food while the little me returned back from school. I would love to share the same.

THIS FOOD CUSTARD

Is a quick summer dish, you can make in a jiffy.
Is easy to make with your favourite fruit and nuts.
Is an amazing way to eat seasonal fruits.

WHY CUSTARD?

A simple fruit custard like this uses ready made store bought custard powder.

My mom always made custard using kwality Custard Powder and I do think it works best.

Maybe it has something to do with the taste I grew up eating. Either way, you can use a vanilla flavored custard powder that you like.

This fruit custard recipe can’t get any easier. You only need to cook the milk with sugar add custard powder and then chill it.

Once chilled, add chopped fruits. Usually you can chill your fruits before adding them to the custard.

It is essential to chill the custard before you add the fruits. Also once you add the fruits, the custard thins out as fruits release water.

So if the custard looks very thick, don’t panic. It will thin out once you add the fruits.

Once the custard and fruits both are chilled, mix them and them chill again for a few of hours before serving.

Custard is more flavorful once you let the fruits sit in the custard for a while.

WHAT FRUITS TO ADD?

Personally, you can have apples, pomegranate and mangoes in my fruit custard.

But you can add whatever you like- grapes, bananas , blueberries.

Stay away from the citrus fruits like oranges, pineapple and kiwi.

Even fruits with more moisture content like watermelon won’t work here.

WHAT VARIATION YOU CAN MAKE ?

A simple custard is just with healthy fruits.

But, you can make it more flavorful by adding nuts like  walnuts, almonds, cashewnuts and dried grapes.

Recipe for custard

1)Add 3 cups of milk to a heavy bottom pan on medium high heat.

2)Once it has heated up a little, take out 3 tablespoons milk from the pan into a bowl.

3)Next, add in 3 tablespoons custard powder to that milk and mix well. There should be no lumps. Set it aside.

4)Now, stir the milk in the pan in between and let it heat and come to a gentle boil. Then lower the heat, add sugar and mix until combined.

4)Start adding the custard mix.

5)Add little at a time and mix after each addition. Whisk continuously. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the custard thickens. Remove pan from heat and let it cool down a bit. At this point you can also add rose water and cardamom powder .

6)Then cover and place it  in the refrigerator to chill.

7)At the same time, chop all fruits that you are using for the custard and refrigerate untill.

8)Once chilled, transfer custard to serving bowl and mix in the fruits well.

8)Cover and refrigerate the custard for 1 to 2 hours after mixing in the fruits for the flavors to develop. This enhances flavour. Then garnish it with pomegranate arils and serve fruits custard in bowls !

Why Breakfast at Morning?

Hey friends, Greetings of the day !!
Hope so you had your breakfast in the morning.
I'm asking this because this is gonna be our today's topic. Why breakfast is essentially in the morning ? Are you curious to know or are you among those 60% physio-conscious intelligent people who are very well aware about it !

What is breakfast & Why it was invented?

The food which starts our beautiful morning and make us full of energy for whole day. As the name suggests, Breakfast is the first meal which breaks the overnight fast. The breakfast bowl consists of nutrients, vitamins, good glucose & good fat.

According to a study, in the whole world only 62% of people have their breakfast in the morning while remaining 38% skips the same. Mainly those who skips breakfast generally gives the reasons of not being hungry, having busy schedule or of being lately awaken.

Benefits of Breakfast:

1. Morning breakfast helps you to boost your immunity power because it is full of nutrients, vitamins & fibre.

2. Scientifically, it helps you to be fit in size with help of weight loss. Taking breakfast won't let you feel hungry till evening thus you can skip eating fast-food.

3. At workplaces, starting your work after having morning breakfast boosts your work output. Same is applicable for students, students having breakfast at morning are found to have more concentration in class.

What will happen if we skips breakfast?

1. AHA(American Health Association) says that 80% of population, among those skips breakfast at morning are suffering from the Heart issues (Cardiovascular). It increases their heart rates.

2. People those who skips there breakfast once in week are most probably found to have 6% chance of having Type 2 Diabetes. Shockingly, this probability rate increases to 60% if breakfast is being skipped  for 3-4 times in a week.

3. It  affects on you concentration power.

Skipping breakfast is skipping nutrient

What to have in breakfast & what not ?

One of the famous survey of Harvard University says that eating healthy plays a major role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. However, previous study mainly focus on what type of meals they are taking but now it's all about how they organize there meals for day.

So taking breakfast doesn't means to have you pancakes, donuts, or burgers, etc.

The morning breakfast should contain whole grains, milk, fruits, cornflakes+milk, oats, overnight soaked moong dal, pulses & mainly use of ghee should be must. Ghee keeps your intestine clean & healthy.

If in the morning, you really don't feels like much hungry then there are thousands of Breakfast Ideas. You can have breakfast drinks like fruit juice or pulps. Having overnight soaked whole grains in morning will help for weight gain and boost your immune.

By the way, my personal favourite breakfast choice is cornflakes & milk with fruits. What is your choice, let us know in comment section till then be healthy &  stayed connect with Oxymoronly.

We enjoy the luscious, cheese dripping, mouth watering pizzas alongside our cheery friends & family at parties. Even while watching suspenseful cricket matches and when our tummy cries out with carves - Get me a Pizza !

However, Do we ever think
How much or how much not healthy is a Pizza?
Do we know the health properties of a Pizza?
Do we know what is the origin of this food?
Have we ever thought to healthify this junk food?
Do we know pizzas all around the globe?

Come ! Lets dig into the answers to these questions!

PIZZA!

Pizza is a dish of Italian origin consisting of a usually round, flat base of leavened wheat-based dough topped with tomato, cheese and often various other ingredients such as various types of sausage, anchovies, mushroom, onions, olives, vegetables, meat, ham, etc. It is then baked at a high temperature, traditionally in a wood fire. A small pizza is sometimes called a pizzeta. A person who makes pizza is known as a Pizzaiolo.

What is the History of Pizza?
Modern pizza evolved from similar flatbread dishes in Napels. Italy, in the 18th or early 19th century. Before that time, flatbread was often topped with ingredients such as garlic, salt, lard, and cheese. It is uncertain when tomatoes were first added and there are many conflicting claims.Until about 1830, pizza was sold from open-air stands and out of pizza bakeries.

DO YOU KNOW PIZZA CAN BE MADE HEALTHY TOO ? HOW ?

Ingredients for Cauliflower Crust

  • Cauliflower: You will need a large head of cauliflower.
  • Egg: Egg is part of “the glue” that holds cauliflower pizza dough together.
  • Cheese: As cheese melts during baking, it helps to bind small pieces of cauliflower into a crust. Cheese is crucial!
  • Spices: Simple dried herbs like oregano, basil or Italian mix plus salt and pepper add flavor to the crust. Cauliflower itself is pretty bland. Also you can add garlic powder.
1. Separate Cauliflower Head into Florets
  • Using cauliflower rice: Skip this step.
  • Preheat oven: It is a good time to preheat oven to 375 degrees F. We first cook rice in it and after bake the crust, so it makes sense to keep the oven on.
  • Separate cauliflower: Using a paring knife, remove outer leaves, rinse and cut off florets one by one.
2.Rice the cauliflower
  • Food processor: Place cauliflower florets in a food processor and process until “rice” texture. Some coarse chunks are fine. You will be baking and then squeezing the cauliflower, so chunks do not matter.
  • Using cauliflower rice: Skip this step.
3. Cook “the Rice”
  • Dish: I spread rice on same baking sheet I will be using for baking or use pie plate for microwave.
  • Oven: Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  • Or Microwave: For 8 minutes.
4. Let Cool a Bit
  • Line large bowl with cheese cloth. You can also use linen tea towel. We will be folding and squeezing “rice” in this material.
  • Transfer and cool: Then transfer cooked cauliflower “rice” to prepped bowl and let cool down until safe to the touch. We will touching the ball with hands to squeeze.
5. Squeeze All Water Out
  • Fold, hold and squeeze: Holding by the four corners of a cheesecloth with one hand, squeeze out as much liquid as you can with another hand.
  • How much to squeeze? Squeeze really well. Quite a few times. I mean it! Count it as an arm workout for the day. I squeezed and then moved the cauliflower around a bit, and squeezed again. If your arm is sore for a bit after, you did it well.
  • Final product: You should be left with a cauliflower mash that is very-very dry
6. Form the Crust
  • Increase oven temperature to 450 degrees F: If you cooked “rice” in the oven, it is a good idea to keep it on. And now is a good time to crank up the temperature for baking the crust.
  • Make pizza dough: Transfer squeezed cauliflower to a bowl. Add egg, oregano or basil, cheese, salt and pepper, and mix well.
  • Prep baking sheet: Line rectangle or round baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat and spray with cooking spray well. Can also use pizza stone but line and spray!
  • Flatten the crust: Using your hands, flatten pizza dough. Make it smaller than in the video. I made it a bit too thin and edges burnt a bit, which is not the end of the world though.
7. Bake the Crust
  • How long to bake? Bake for 20 minutes at 450 degrees F.
  • Make crispy: Flip and bake for a few more minutes until crispy.
  • Ready! Your healthy pizza crust is ready for topping.
8.Add toppings and bake
  • Load it up in this order: Add pizza sauce, toppings, cheese and bake again until cheese is melted.
  • Not too much: Do not overload the crust with heavy toppings as you won’t be able to hold the slice then
Tada! Your healthy cauliflower crust pizza is ready! Tempting isn't it!?

Tips to make your pizza healthy!

Pizza is not only delicious but can also be a healthy meal choice when thought is put into its preparation.

Pizza can go either way: quintessential greasy junk food or healthy combo of fresh ingredients. Which one sounds better to you? Here's how to build a pie with a healthier profile.
1)    Give it a Whole-Grain Crust
You can make your own also using cauliflower.  Each satisfying slice will have extra fiber and protein.

2)    Use Lighter Cheeses
Go for big flavor and fewer calories by using a combination of part-skim mozzarella, sharp provolone and naturally lower-fat Parmesan.

3)    Load Up On Veggies
Pizza night is a great way to use up what's in the fridge. There are no rules--whatever you've got, toss it on.

4)    Mind Your Portions
Pizza is one of those foods that folks mindlessly shovel, so it's worth paying attention to portions (do you really need that third or fourth slice?!)

5)    Go for Healthier Topppers
Instead of gobs of cheese, opt for hearty, healthy pizza toppers like roasted squash and meaty mushrooms.

6)    Choose Leaner Meats
Meat lovers don't have to lose out. Swap out fatty meats like pepperoni and pork sausage for thinly sliced (leaner) cuts of salami, turkey bacon and chicken sausage.

7)    Serve with Salad
Instead of simply eating less pizza, serve it up with a large salad.

Last but not the least, friends do not forget our Shastra teachings

Time to be a Cook 😁

Recipe of Cheese Grilled Sandwich -

This sandwich type is most familiar with everyone. Its receipe can be quoted in a single sentence.
Two slices of bread with cheese in the middle, slapped onto a grill.
Simple and satisfying.  The best thing about grilled cheese is that it can be adapted based on the local cuisine or personal preferences.

In U.S., grilled cheese often consists of a couple slices of packaged American cheese between two slices of bread. The options are really endless though. Try an imported cheese, or adding another ingredient or two to the middle, like bacon or avocado. Other countries also have their own version of grilled cheese, or different names for it.

In France, you could order a Croquet Madame.

In England, they also have a simple version of grilled cheese, but it's called a "Toastie."

Ditto for Australia, where they're called "Jaffles."
